Sustainable Styling Tips by Cassandra Dittmer

Introducing Cassandra Dittmer, the woman on a mission to bring sustainable styling to the masses. After witnessing first-hand the negative effects that fashion can have on people and the planet, coupled with a growing amount of greenwashing, Cassandra spotted an opportunity to educate and inspire the way we shop, for the better. With 10 years of styling experience under her belt, she now offers her own online styling service, designed to help navigate the complex world of sustainable fashion.

After our recent Instagram Live, with Cassandra and Jelena, ambassador of Botanical Beach Babes on how to align your wardrobe with your sustainable values, we asked Cassandra to share her favourite ECONYL® pieces, along with her top styling tips. Over to Cassandra!

A transitional styling tip is to take your favorite one-piece suit and pair it with a trouser or jeans for the fall. I love adding in a bucket hat to keep it feeling stylized and modern. Pair with your favorite cardigan or jacket to keep it seasonally appropriate.

I love the dimension and structure of this dress and think of it as a year-round wardrobe hero item. You could dress it down with sneakers or add heels for a more sophisticated occasion. Definitely a statement look but if you get creative there’s ways to style it for versatility.

It is very challenging to find sustainable suiting, especially for men. The fact ECONYL® brand offers options for this classic tailored suit is truly innovative. This suit is the perfect shade of blue that can be worn throughout the year. To ground this potential ‘workwear’ suiting, I’d pair a backpack in a streamlined silhouette which adds a cool and playful touch.
