At ArtVerona 2022 ECONYL® becomes an artwork in the hands of Stefano Arienti

For the second year, ECONYL® nylon is one of the protagonists of ArtVerona, the fair dedicated to modern and contemporary art located in Verona from 14 to 16 October 2022.

The new Red Carpet that welcomes all the visitors in the Galleria dei Signori at the entrance hall to the fair is entirely made of ECONYL® nylon by Sit-in, Radici, an Italian company producing high-quality carpets.

The 500 square meters carpet is an artwork by Stefano Arienti, one of the most appreciated contemporary Italian artists at an international level. The carpet, entitled “Corso Europa (by G.B. Piranesi)“, is inspired by the work of the famous eighteenth-century Venetian architect and engraver. Arienti started from two engravings in Piranesi’s “Le antichità romane” and by cutting out, rotating and bringing the portions of these images closer together, he reorganized the fragments as if they were the pavement of a road. The states are arranged without a specific order, juxtaposed next to each other in a long path that transports visitors to art.

Arienti invites everybody to walk across Europe, including on the large carpet all the states that have been part of his history and stimulating a reflection on the European continent.

ArtVerona’s Red Carpet makes the event an engaging experience because the public can walk from one state to another, reflecting on various themes.

Always looking for solutions for a circular economy, the carpet is entirely modular and at the end of the event, it will be preserved and reused again by Aquafil, the company producing ECONYL® nylon. Some parts will be reworked into unique pieces, which will become an exclusive Capsule Collection of interior rugs that can be purchased on the ECONYL® e-shop.
