RubyMoon Gym To Swim was started in 2010, to prove that a fashion brand can be positive for people and the planet, rather than detrimental.
This Week’s Brand Spotlight: RubyMoon
Circularity and having as little impact on the planet as possible is at the heart of everything RubyMoon do.
They follow a circular economy business model, meaning that resources travel around and are always being recycled, reused and repurposed. This in turn reduces waste, carbon use, pollution, and overall consumption. They call this their Circle of Impact.
Their versatile Gym To Swim® collection is designed to be worn in and out of the water, meaning they can be worn for any sport. From yoga and running to swimming and surfing, RubyMoon activewear is fit for purpose, allowing their customers to ‘Do more with less’, thus lowering consumption. All of their items are part of a mix and match capsule collection, further promoting lower consumption.
ALL RubyMoon products are made using ECONYL® regenerated nylon, meaning that RubyMoon garments are truly circular. However, their circle of impact is much more than just using recycled materials.
RubyMoon is an all female business and empowering women worldwide is at the heart of the brand.
100% of their net profits are donated as loans for women entrepreneurs in developing countries, through the charity lendwithcare.org. This money helps these women to start or grow their own businesses, thus giving them a brighter future and a voice in their communities; in areas where they may not even have rights over their children. Once these loans are returned to RubyMoon, the money is reinvested back into further loans so that increasing numbers of women are helped across the world. RubyMoon names all of their products after the inspiring women entrepreneurs they have helped.
By creating long lasting, well-designed activewear, RubyMoon are allowing women to contribute to a better world by cleaning our Earth, lowering consumption and empowering women in developing countries.
