The CHIBA glove making factory was founded in 1853 by Alois Chiba in Abertham. The successful product has been fine glacé gloves, individually adapted to the anatomy of each hand. The great success made Abertham become the centre of German glove production. In 1965 Chiba moved to the Berchtesgadener Land and with his knowledge of the hand anatomy, he created ergonomic sport gloves. Even today, Chiba is producing most gloves by itself and stands for ergonomic gloves fitting perfectly and providing protection.
