Carvico and Jersey Lomellina join the Healthy Seas initiative
Our long time partners Carvico and Jersey Lomellina, which produce high-tech knitted fabrics for swimwear, sportswear, underwear and outerwear, have announced their participation in the Healthy Seas initiative, a journey from waste to wear.
Having always focused on preserving the environment, Carvico and Jersey Lomellina are aware of the fact that implementing a sustainable production policy is no longer a choice, but a must in today’s world. This led to the selection and use of the 100% regenerated ECONYL® yarn, made from pre- and post-consumer waste, such as fishing nets recovered by the Healthy Seas initiative.
“Carvico and Jersey Lomellina represent global excellence in fabric performance and quality. Their decision to join and support Healthy Seas is in line with their commitment to the use of sustainable materials, and of industrial practices with reduced environmental impact. We are extremely proud to have them on board.” said Mr. Fabrizio Calenti, member of the Healthy Seas Steering Committee.
Healthy Seas aims to recover discarded fishing nets from the seas that are then regenerated thanks to the ECONYL® Regeneration System into Nylon yarn for new textile products. Healthy Seas wants to give consumers a responsible choice of products, which tell the powerful story of the journey from waste to wear.
