DL MAGAZINE – Breitling Superocean Automatic 44 Outerknown with ECONYL Yarn Nato Strap
By Radhika Seth
The oceans are abundant! Abundant with animal life, plant life and the garbage that we humans are pouring into its waters. The sad truth is that we are choking our sea creatures with the rubbish that we leave behind. In an attempt to do something about this, we have Breitling partnering with Kelly Slater’s surf wear brand, where they are using repurposed nylon waste that has been pulled out from the oceans, example – fishing nets, and using them to make Nato Straps for the Breitling Superocean Automatic 44 Outerknown.
Co-designed with Kelly Slater, the Superocean Automatic 44 Outerknown is teamed with the special ECONYL yarn Nato strap.
Using the ECONYL yarn (crafted from repurposed nylon waste), the COSC-certified chronometer dive watch is a great companion on your wrist, come rain or shine.
Along with the khaki green strap, Breitling is offering us five colors and four sizes to pick from. If you’re good with math, then you will know that it translates to 18 styles of Outerknown Econyl yarn Nato straps. Details include stainless steel buckles and DLC-coated buckles for some watches.
