A bag for life
As the fashion industry pivots towards a more sustainable future, brands are increasingly having to re-assess their eco credentials.
And now British handbag brand Mulberry has joined the fleet of those evaluating their impact on the environment, as it has launched its first ever 100 per cent sustainable bag.
The Portobello Tote has been in the works for the last few months, and follows the brand’s recent men’s range which was made exclusively using ECONYL.
As if this wasn’t enough, Mulberry has pledged that by autumn/ winter 2020, its nylon products will be converted to ECONYL instead. Back in summer Prada made a similar pledge when it remade its iconic nylon bags from recycled ocean plastic and vowed to phase out all virgin nylon by 2021.
