ECONYL® nylon is in the spotlight at CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022
On September 25th, the CNMI Sustainable Fashion Awards 2022 took place in the suggestive setting of Teatro alla Scala in Milan, organized by Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana in collaboration with the United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative. After the last awards ceremony of sustainable fashion was held in 2020 in digital form due to the global pandemic, the event, returning with its fifth edition, is dedicated to rewarding sustainable fashion.
Since 2017 the event is dedicated to awarding those who have distinguished themselves in the application of sustainability principles in the fashion industry, recognizing the achievements and ongoing efforts of both Italian and international designers and brands in helping to redefine a fashion industry that is more sustainable, ethical, and circular.
For its excellence in circularity, ECONYL® nylon has been chosen again as the ingredient of the special green carpet covering Piazza della Scala.
The magnificent carpet recalls the circularity in its shape and in its story. Created by Sit-in using ECONYL® nylon, the carpet is made with vivid colors that recall the logo of the event designed by the artist Michelangelo Pistoletto and has completely covered Piazza della Scala with its 1300 square meters.

The carpet has been in the spotlight on the Awards night, walked down by celebrities like Cate Blanchett, Taylor Hill, Toni Garn, Grace Elizabeth, Eva Riccobono, Claire Holt, Stephanie Glitter, Indya Moore, Lauren Hutton, Bianca Balti, Beatrice Valli, Isabeli Fontana, Olivia Palermo, Tamara Kalinic, Ester Exposito. Every celebrity was dressed by monumental fashion brands such as Prada, Gucci, Zegna, Armani and Valentino, among others.
The Italian top model Bianca Balti wore a wonderful outfit created by Tod’s made with ECONYL® nylon, combining innovation, creativity and sustainability. The look was personally created by the creative director Walter Chiapponi. With his flair, he turned ECONYL® nylon into a cape masterfully worn by Bianca, demonstrating once again the endless possibilities of this regenerated nylon.
