Born in Tom Dixon’s 80’s London workshop, the S Chair continues to shapeshift and find new adaptations and interpretations.

For London Craft Week 2020 Tom Dixon team invited Peju Obasa, a London knitwear designer specialised  in crochet and up-cycled materials.

She chose ECONYL® regenerated nylon to re-imagine the iconic S Chair.

Reusing an early S Chair, Peju removed the existing material first to uncover the metal frame. She then began to crochet the silver yarn around the frame before completing the seat and back.

The S Chair will remain in Tom Dixon’s London hub as part of their S Chair museum at the Coal Office in Coal Drops Yard, Kings Cross, London.
