NEUMÜHLE, is an idyllic valley in Uznach, the place where fox and hare say good night to each other and in the morning not the alarm rings but the cowbell wakes you up. Neumühle is the home of the founders Edith and Andreas Fehr. Edith’s great passion is crocheting wool hats; Therefore she created together with her son Andreas the label “Neumühle“.
While Edith is responsible for the VON MAMI collection in Neumühle and deals with design, yarn and patterns, Andreas is responsible for the development of the other collections and the distribution of the products. For their collections, Andreas draws inspiration from his travels around the world and his everyday life in the heart of Zurich.
The brand develops sustainable accessories with a social and ecological impact. Their products bring design and functionality into harmony.
They let themselves be inspired by the wonders of this earth and develop their products through discovery and cultural exchange. For them, people are at the center. That is why their collections bear the names of their producers.
With this personal closeness and transparency, they would like to encourage people to shop more carefully. In this way they would like to make their personal contribution to slowing down mass consumption and set an example for more humanity.
“Used fishing nets account for 30 to 50 percent of marine waste.” – According to the WWF report.
“What can we do about this waste?” They asked themselves this question during the development of the “VON ALICE” Net-Swimwearcollection made with ECONYL® regenerated nylon from waste such as fishing nets from the sea.
The net swimwear is made by Alice in Switzerland. Since 1990 she runs her business in Lugano. Her team is tailoring the pieces by hand locally in the Ticino region of Switzerland. By working with a local Swiss manufacturer Neumühle is able to reduce CO2 emissions substantially, while supporting the local industry.
