VOGUE – Searches For Sustainable Fashion Grew By 66 Per Cent Last Year

It’s no secret that the fashion industry is one of the biggest polluters in the world. Between landfills piling up with discarded garments, tons of wasted water used to dye fabrics every day, and harmful microfibres that are released into the oceans, the need for major change has never been greater. On the positive side, however, awareness of these issues is finally starting to lead to a slow but necessary change.

According to their website, this search included keywords like “ethical brands” and ”econyl,” as well as ”organic cotton.” More specific searches like “sustainable denim” resulted in a massive 187 per cent spike in page views for the brands that offer it.
