Cartersville, GA, March 11, 2019 – Aquafil, a leading manufacturer of ECONYL® regenerated nylon through innovative recycling technology, announced today that its chairman and chief executive officer, Giulio Bonazzi will be speaking on a panel at the seventh annual Responsible Business Summit in New York to share his insights on embedding circular-thinking across the enterprise.

The panel that Bonazzi is participating on takes place on Monday, March 18 at 4:00pm and is moderated by Kevin Eckerle, director of corporate research and engagement for the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business. He is joined by other circular economy-focused business leaders from Closed Loop Partners, Unilever, Seventh Generation and Tetra Pak.

Bonazzi is passionate about environmental sustainability and advancing the circular economy. An innovator and disruptor, Bonazzi is transforming his family-run manufacturing business into a sustainable global enterprise by turning trash from landfill and oceans into high-quality, beautiful fibers. Today, Aquafil is recognized as a sustainability leader, a stalwart example of the circular economy and an innovator within the synthetic textile industry, with 16 plants in eight countries across three continents.

At Aquafil nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world including fishnets, fabric scraps, carpet flooring and industrial plastic is transformed into ECONYL® regenerated nylon. It’s exactly the same as brand new nylon and can be recycled, recreated and remolded again and again. Using ECONYL® regenerated nylon also reduces the global warming impact of nylon by up to 80% compared with the material generated from oil.

Leaders in the fashion, architecture and interior design industries rely on ECONYL® to create beautiful textiles without depleting resources. Bonazzi has successfully implemented this shift across Aquafil’s global operations and worked with its customers to help them achieve their sustainability goals.
Evolving your business model to have sustainability at its core is a significant challenge, but one worth pursuing for the long-term health of our economies and environment. I am proud that Aquafil is a leader in the circular economy and look forward to sharing our challenges and successes with the business leaders at this summit,” said Bonazzi.
