Our CEO Giulio Bonazzi will be one of keynote speakers at the 2nd International Circular Change Conference, which will be held on 11th and 12th of May in Ljubljana and Maribor. His speech, entitled “Emergence of the Circular Culture in a Sustainable Business, will show Aquafil’s successful journey towards full sustainability as one of the successfully implemented circular transformations.

After last years’ successful launch, the 2nd Conference focuses on implementation of circular economy, well represented in the slogan “Walking the Talk: Enabling Circular Transformation”. Among others, the conference’s ambition is to identify the opportunities that are already here, and start taking advantage of them. We are proud to be identified as one of the pioneers in transformation from the linear to circular economy and are glad to present our sustainability journey, which follows our vision to play a leading role in new models for sustainable development to secure the future of company growth, and growth of future generations.

Mr. Bonazzi keynote speech will open the session “Systemic Approach as a Key” on the 2nd day of the conference, together with Janez Potočnik, former EU Commissioner of Environment, co-chair of UNEP IRP, Partner at SystemiQ and President of the Circular Change Advisory Board, who will talk about Systemic Change: a good disruption – global actions for circular transformation.

The conference hosts other top experts from Circular Economy Hot Spots in EU and worldwide, including representatives from World Economic Forum, members of Ellen MacArthur Foundation and European Platform for circular economy. The focus of this year’s conference is:

  • Collaboration: from circular business models to circular cities
  • A new narrative: case studies as the most efficient learning tool
  • Disruption: a new role for public private partnerships, procurement, taxation and financial institutions
  • Systemic approach: Circular Economy platforms – local, regional, global

The conference will connect two circular cities – Ljubljana, also the European Green Capital 2016, and Maribor, recognized in circular economy community with Wcycle project, an example project of integrated waste management in the region based on circular economy.
