Not only stunning “green” red carpets but also beautiful dresses and fashion accessories.

During Milano Fashion Week 2019, ECONYL® yarn was spotted in some of the most unique corners of the Italian city, from Piazza della Scala to San Barnaba’s cloisters and Piazza Duomo.

On September 18th, ECONYL® dived in the depths of ATLANTIS, together with Tiziano Guardini’s new creations included in the summer 2020 Women’s Collection. The iconic wave skirts and the striped, colorful, iridescent knitwear are made (in part) with ECONYL® yarn.

In the afternoon of September 22nd, ECONYL® appeared in A-Lab Milano’s SS20 capsule collection, shown at San Barnaba’s cloisters. The collection features caps, jackets, shorts, and colorful bags made of Aquafil’s regenerated yarn. Giulia Valentina attended the event wearing a sporty outfit made of ECONYL® nylon.

In the evening, ECONYL® yarn played a central role at the GCFA event. Hamish Bowles, Vogue editor and Creative Director of the awards, was inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci in the 500th anniversary year of his death to design a 2,000 square meter carpet that covered the Piazza della Scala and welcomed celebrity guests to the awards.

Our regenerated yarn, that is sourced entirely from nylon waste, was the material base of the dresses worn by Healthy Seas project coordinator Veronika Mikos, who accepted the Circular Economy Award, and by Roberta Bonazzi, Giulio Bonazzi’s (CEO & Chairman of Aquafil) stunning wife.

Both dresses were designed by Alessandro Biasi. Veronika’s was an activewear reinterpretation of the A-lab Milano iconic archive cocktail dress model made with the „chain“ print fabric which was included in their AW19 capsule collection while Roberta’s was a custom long gown with a stylized hummingbird design in orange and violet.
