Last week on Wednesday, October 25th, we broadcasted our first webinar for interior designers and architects. The title was Innovation in materials production and building construction. The webinar focused on the definition of sustainable building products and introduced some of the most important sustainability labels in the market that are recognized in the main sustainability rating systems, such as LEED, WELL, and LBC.

We created this course to help designers understand how to make informed choices and include them in their next design project to meet and exceed their client’s needs.

46 people attended the webinar which lasted about 40 minutes and had a final Q&A section of 15 minutes.

Paola Moschini and Elisa Sirombo – who work as facilitators and managers of design and construction teams contributing to the certification process of several LEED® buildings in Europe – presented the webinar and responded to the many questions that we received.

The learning objectives that the webinar pursued were as follows:

– principles of sustainable building

– main rating systems available in the market

– principles of some sustainability labels for building products

– how sustainability labels of building products fit with main sustainability rating systems of buildings

– An explanation of the ECONYL® Regeneration Process and the ECONYL® nylon yarn used in residential and contract carpets.

To support these objectives, we provided three case studies where the ECONYL® yarn is used in carpet collections by ege, Interface and Desso

The webinar was recorded and shared with over a hundred people who subscribed. We will try to make the recording available on our website as soon as possible. Meanwhile, we would love to receive suggestions from architects and designers about topics for a new sustainable design webinar.
