IMPERFECT POINTES was born from the idea of an unconventional “balletmom” and owner, Helen, who was frustrated to find that within the multi-million dollar dancewear industry, very few brands are focusing on sustainability.

Most of them are run on the principles as fast fashion – high throughput and new collections every week.

As the mother of a ballerina, through Imperfect Pointes, Helen wants to help dancers make a change for good.

Helen is on a mission to disrupt perceptions of ballet – it’s not just about men in tights, pastel pink tutus and having the neatest ballet bun.

Through its sustainable business model Imperfect Pointes aims to reduce the impact of balletwear on the planet: its whole collection is made using ECONYL®.

The Imperfect Pointes ethos is ‘We can’t do everything all at once – we’re not perfect, but we are trying to make a difference, one leotard at a time’.
